Are your products handmade?
Yes, every Couragem piece is made by hand in our Lisbon atelier. Nothing is mass-produced – each piece is unique.
What leather do you use?
We work with full grain leather. Natural variations in texture, tone and small marks are part of the material and are not defects.
Do you offer personalisation?
Yes. We emboss names, initials, dates or a word on most pieces – the number of characters is shown on each product. We have Portuguese accents and characters for most other languages. For any questions, email hello@couragem.com.
Orders and shipping
How long will my order take?
As every piece is handmade, production takes 3 to 5 working days. Shipping time is added on top and depends on the country: in mainland Portugal 2 to 5 working days (CTT Registered) or next working day (CTT Express).
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship across Europe. Shipping times and costs are calculated automatically at checkout. Shipping is free over €100 to Portugal and Spain, and over €120 to the rest of Europe.
How can I track my order?
You'll receive an email with the tracking number as soon as your order ships.
Exchanges and returns
Can I exchange or return a personalised or made-to-order product?
No. Personalised or made-to-order pieces cannot be exchanged or returned, except in the case of a manufacturing defect. Natural marks in the leather are not considered defects: they are unique features of each piece.
What about ready-to-ship pieces?
We accept exchanges within 14 days of delivery, as long as the item is in perfect condition, unused, with its original packaging and labels.
Who pays for return shipping?
Return shipping costs are paid by the customer, unless the item is faulty or we made a mistake.
Care and maintenance
How should I care for my leather pieces?
Avoid long exposure to sun and excessive moisture. Wipe with a soft dry cloth. For deeper care, use leather-specific products. See our Leather Care page for more details.
Will the leather change over time?
Yes, leather is a living material that develops a patina with use. This natural change is part of the character of each piece.

We accept credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), MB Way and PayPal.
Are payments secure?
Yes, all payments are processed securely through certified platforms.
